Remember for holiday travel that your fish can be quite healthy for a week with no food. The risks from having unsupervised helpers feed your fish while you are away is often far greater than any risk from their going hungry for a few days. Things like water quality problems and filter malfunctions are less likely to happen if there is no chance of an accidental mass-overfeeding. Timed automatic feeders can be used, but again be sure you are confident in how they operate with your particular food. Don't set them up for the first time just before you go out the door!
